How Many cc/Sessions Do You Need?

For a full-face “refresh”

Most Seoul clinics quote prices by cc (1 cc ≈ 1 syringe).

• A light treatment for glow or texture typically uses 2 cc (one vial).

• Broader coverage, including the neck or jawline, usually requires 4–6 cc.
  Always ask your clinic to write down the total number of cc and syringes, the product version, injector’s name, and any included or optional add-ons.

For targeted areas (Under-Eye, Cheeks)

Dosage is smaller.

• Under-eye: about 1 cc total (0.5 cc per side).

• Smile lines or small acne-scar zones: roughly 1 cc.

Session Spacing & Maintenance Cadence

Most clinics recommend an initial course of 3–4 sessions, spaced 3–4 weeks apart.
Improvement tends to appear gradually over several weeks after the final session.

For upkeep, many dermatologists suggest maintenance every 6–12 months.
If you’re visiting Korea for a short trip and can only fit in one or two sessions, enhance the outcome with proper at-home care and gentle follow-ups once you return home.

VAT Refund & Payment Basics (2025)

Eligibility & Designated Providers

• Who qualifies: Non-residents (foreign visitors without a Korean address) and eligible overseas Koreans who depart within 3 months of the treatment date.

• Where to claim: Only at tax-refund-registered medical clinics approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. These clinics partner with official refund operators (Global Blue, etc.) and display “Tax Refund Available” signage.

• Official reference: The Medical Korea (KHIDI) website maintains an updated list of designated hospitals and clinics.

⚠️ Policy update: As of Oct 2025, the Korean government has been reviewing whether to end the cosmetic-VAT refund by Dec 31 2025 or extend it through 2026. Always double-check the current rule before traveling.

Downtown vs. Airport Refund Flow

1. At the clinic: Pay the treatment fee and request a Certificate of Selling Medical Service (official medical-tax-refund form).

2. At the airport or port:

   • Present your passport and certificate at the tax-refund counter or kiosk in the departure hall.

   • The refund is usually processed immediately to your card or in cash (depending on operator).

3. Downtown refund offices:

   • You can also claim before departure at partner refund desks in Seoul.

   • Some offices require your passport, flight info, and payment card for verification.

4. Missed the refund at departure?

   • You can apply within 3 months of the treatment date by emailing the refund operator with copies of your passport, boarding pass, certificate, and card number. Details are listed on the Medical Korea site.

Receipts & Passport Checklist

Before leaving the clinic, make sure you have:

1. Passport (must match payment name)

2. Certificate of Selling Medical Service issued by the clinic

3. Payment card (for credit-card refunds)

4. Flight ticket or boarding pass (proof of departure within 3 months)

5. Consent form (if requested by the refund operator)

Keep in mind: Korea’s standard VAT rate is 10%, but refund operators may deduct small handling fees, so the final refunded amount may be slightly lower.
